French brassiere, 1920, care of The Metropolitan Museum of Art
Hi, Everyone. We hope you all had some fun reading Issue Seventeen. As promised, we’re sharing what we’re doing to cleanse, clarify and de-clutter our lives this month. We’re editing our top drawers (one bra, sock and knickers style on repeat), refreshing our summer whites (skirts, tees and tennis gear), pouring our dish and hand soap into beautiful vessels (mouth-blown glass only), upgrading our children’s tableware (no primary colors) and switching out our light switches (go “Invisible” or go home). Doing little things like this to improve the ease and beauty of your daily life can make a big difference. For example, how inspiring is this simple basket of old Smythson diaries? You can do the same with a collection of baseball caps, straw hats or even tennis shoes and suddenly something that once cluttered your home becomes an object d’art.
